ABOUT ME

Artist Bio of Sunita Hansen

Sunita Hansen was born in Robertson as the youngest of four children and grew up in Vredendal. She is a self-taught artist who currently lives and teaches in Bellville. She had Art as a subject at college and educated herself in different mediums by attending art classes and workshops from artists she admires.  She has taken part in numerous group shows, curated exhibitions, and auctions in and around Cape Town. She mainly works in watercolor, oil, charcoal and recently various types of printing.

She is inspired by observing her surroundings and painting en plein air in places that she visits. Her figure studies are done in a realistic style.

She views her art as a continuous journey of discovery, a connection to the Great Creator, and an expression of her variety of affinities.
