Millwood House was originally built in the Millwood mining village in the Knysna forests - site of South Africa's first modern-era gold mining boon. (It was a very short one!) The building was dismantled and moved to Knysna after the mines were exhausted. It's now one of the five buildings that make up the Knysna Museum.
The Millwood goldfield has now become a nostalgic memory to many in the Knysna area.
