Hi, My first post on this great site. Lots of great work here. Looking to get back in the hobby/lifestyle. Anybody have opinions on Smithy Mills and Lathes? In particular, LX-329 (925 lb beast) and LZ-239 Lathe (850 lb). I have seen alot of posts on the 3-1 machines already but not on the dedicated stuff. Both of these seem pricey, but I don't have a lot of real estate in my garage.

Smithy didn't even have the manuals reprinted with Smithy on it. As someone who has run many machines in the past I can safely say that my mill is a low quality import. It may work ok but I think if you check around you will find a mill that will work for you. If your planning on upgrading the Smithy is not the best. I found out the hard way.
